Monitor/Defibrillator (MonDef) Application
The MonDef App is a program that allows an instructor to use a Windows-based touchscreen
computer or tablet as a monitor/defibrillator in the classroom. The system completely
replaces clinical monitors and ECG simulator boxes in ACLS/PALS courses and other
trainings where sophisticated equipment is necessary.
Benefits to using the MonDef App instead of clinical equipment include:
- Inexpensive - App costs $149.95! Full system costs <$1000!
- Replaces clinical monitor in classroom (saving several thousand dollars)
- Replaces a $600-$800 ECG simulator box
- Provides ECG, SPO2, PETCO2, BP, heart rate, and temp readings
- Adult, Pediatric, Infant, and Neonatal values programmed in
- No ‘live’ monitor means no chance of student accidental self-defibrillation
- Increased realism possible with MonDef props such as defibrillation electrodes, SPO2
probes, Capnography probes, BP cuffs, and other add-ons
The MonDef App is clearly the easiest and most cost-effective way of having ECG,
monitor, and vital sign simulation in the classroom.
